Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT) An institute established by the Kerala Government in 1991, for young and ambitious engineers focusing on their intellectual growth and professional development. Centrally located in the progress-oriented district of Kottayam, Kerala. It was named after the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who aimed to bring about quality technical education among students and lead them towards innovation. Associated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, RIT provides an amalgam rich in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and related fields. Eligibility Criteria

UG Programs 

B.Tech

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 with aggregate marks of at least 50% including Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Admission is based on a valid score in Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examination.

B.Arch

  • Passed 10+2 or a diploma with mathematics as a subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • A valid score in the NATA is also an absolute requirement.

 

PG Programs 

M.Tech

  • Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
  • Provided the candidate has a valid score in the GATE entrance examination conducted by IITs, admission is allowed.

MCA

  • All candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with Mathematics as one of its subjects and not less than 50% aggregate marks.
  • Admission to any course shall strictly be based on merit from the qualifying examination and any state-level entrance tests.
     

Admission Process

1. Entrance Examination:

 UG Programs

  • Apply and appear for the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination for B.Tech programs.
  • For B.Arch, apply for NATA, or National Aptitude Test in Architecture

PG programs

  • Obtain a valid score in the GATE examination for M.Tech programs.
  • For MCA, check if any state-level entrance tests are required.

2. Online Application:

  • Submit a valid online application on the website after confirming the eligibility criteria.

3. Document Submission:

  • Arrange to submit relevant documents such as:
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Birth certificate
  • Caste certificate; In case required
  • Scorecard of KEAM or NATA

4. Application Fee Payment:

  • Pay the prescribed application fee while filling out the application form.

5. Counseling Process:

  • Attend counseling conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE). As per your rank, select courses and colleges of your choice.

6. Seat Allotment:

  • Wait for the seat allotment result. If you get a seat in RIT, then report to the college through the instructions provided.

7. Reporting to College:

  • After the seat allotment, attend RIT with all the original documents to verify and complete all the admission formalities like fee payment.
